I designed a completely new theme for Akmeelikoru based on the customer’s wishes, first I made a fireframe and then a prototype of it. Small changes were made along the way before the actual coding started, and when the customer was satisfied with the design, I started the actual coding work.
The Akmeelikoru is the first theme I implemented with Woocommerce, so there were some problems. Coding the site involved a big learning curve in terms of coding itself, time management and design. Now, if I could redo this theme, I would certainly do at least some things completely differently, but that’s what learning is. The next work will always be better than its predecessor and you will definitely learn something new from each theme. This job was my first real client job, and I think I succeeded really well as a first-timer. I coded the theme e.g. Using Udemy’s courses and WordPress’s developer resources.
In my opinion, the project went quite well as the first online store. I learned a lot of new things, but there are also things I could have done differently. However, who would be a blacksmith at birth and a professional with his/hers first project? Making the theme was an interesting project, I would love to create more themes for online stores.
The customer was satisfied with the end result of the site, even though it took longer than expected.
The site is not under my maintenance but elsewhere. Changes made after spring 2023 are NOT made by me. I hope that the new website has also pleased customers and possibly brought more visitors to the site.
